Welcome to a magical world where the imagination comes to life and every step along the Yellow Brick Road is a new adventure! Here, dreams become reality, and you will have the chance to explore the mysteries, challenges, and charms immortalised in the work of “The Wizard of Oz”.

Arrival at Herdade da Malhadinha Nova – we welcome you at the tavern with traditional appetizers – The first delights from our Chef accompanied by the mono varietal Arinto 2023, the wine that showcases through an illustration by Francisca with the bee and its importance in the Malhadinha ecosystem.

Take advantage of the afternoon to enjoy the tranquillity of the Alentejo plains. Relax by the pool, indulge in the treatments at our spa, or simply enjoy the peace surrounded by nature.

7:30 PM – Get Together – Meet the Malhadinha team and family in a warm and intimate gathering at the Malhadinha tavern for an aperitif before dinner.

8:00 PM – Themed Dinner at the Malhadinha Restaurant, a Michelin Green Star establishment inspired by the “Yellow Brick Road” – Embark on a journey that transports you to the enchanted world of the Land of Oz, recreating Dorothy's journey along the Yellow Brick Road with a special menu created by our kitchen team led by Joachim Koerper and Cintia Koerper, exploring through gastronomy values such as adventure and discovery.

Dorothy's journey along the Yellow Brick Road is a magical walk, filled with adventures, discoveries, and life lessons. Along this path, Dorothy and her companions face challenges and meet allies who embody essential values such as friendship, courage, and perseverance.

8:30 AM – 11:00 AM – Breakfast – Enjoy our breakfast featuring organic and biological products from the estate, overlooking the infinity pools against the backdrop of the Alentejo plains.

11:00 AM – Estate Tour and Wine Tasting – Discover the essence of Malhadinha with a tour of our vineyards, followed by a personalised wine tasting in the Barrel Cellar, an immersive experience in an intimate setting.

11:00 AM – Scarecrow-Making Workshop for Children – The scarecrow wishes for a brain, yet along the way, he demonstrates practical intelligence and creativity. Inspired by this character, a central element of the narrative, we invite both young and old to create scarecrows using recycled materials to capture their experience for future memories.

1 PM – Lunch in the Units Inspired by Dorothy's Home – A welcoming experience based on Dorothy's home in Kansas, where values such as simplicity, comfort, and affection are shared through a menu inspired by traditional Alentejo recipes, created by Alentejo chef Vitalina Santos.

4:00 PM – Pottery Workshop by the banks of the Ribeira de Terges – Get inspired by the characters of the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion, for a creative pottery experience in the heart of nature alongside the Ribeira de Terges. Learn traditional techniques for shaping clay while creating your own piece of art to take home.

20h00 – 8:00 PM – Themed Dinner at the Malhadinha Restaurant, a Michelin Green Star establishment, inspired by the characters of Dorothy and her  three companions on their journey – a magical and immersive celebration where the combination of each dish and the suggested wines by our sommelier Andrii Pokryshko is inspired by one of the most iconic characters from "The Wizard of Oz" and
the lessons they learn and impart during their journey: INTELLIGENCE, CREATIVITY, KINDNESS, AND COURAGE. Accompanying the dinner, live singing and a violin will perform some of the themes from the 1939 film, immortalised by the voice of Judy Garland.

10:00 PM – Screening of the 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz" at the Tavern – Gather the family for a cinema session with popcorn and colourful drinks, and watch this classic film directed by Victor Fleming, starring Judy Garland as Dorothy. This work is a landmark in cinema history and is always worth revisiting, especially for the transition from black and white to Technicolor, which captivated audiences around the world.

The work of “The Wizard of Oz” and its re-editions such as the musical and film WICKED explores themes of magic and illusion, personified through the characters of the Wizard, Elphaba [the Wicked Witch of the West] and Glinda [the Good Witch of the North]. These characters provide the theme for the third day of this experience, offering a rich narrative about power, morality, manipulation, and personal growth.

08:30 AM – 11:00 AM – Breakfast– Enjoy the gifts of nature at our breakfast prepared with fresh products from our lands and the region, so you can start your day in the best possible way.

11:00 AM – Easter Bread Workshop – Vitalina, a cook from this region “Alentejo”, shares the recipe for Easter bread. Gather your family or friends for a fun and tasty experience with our kitchen team and learn how to make this traditional bread, so typical of Portuguese gastronomic culture.

1 PM – Lunch in the Units inspired by the Good Witch of the North [Glinda] – A lunch that celebrates light and magic, highlighting the values represented by the Good Witch of the North in every piece. An intelligent cuisine that combines the tradition of Alentejo cooking with the lightness of Malhadinha’ s cuisine, created by chef Joachim Koerper.

4:00 PM – Easter Egg Painting Workshop – We invite adults and children to a creative and playful activity that allows everyone to decorate their eggs for the Easter celebration with family. Our organic eggs are the raw material for this thematic workshop, and the Malhadinha ecosystem serves as inspiration for the artistic creations represented on the Easter eggs.

8:00 PM – Magical Banquet at the Malhadinha Restaurant, Michelin Green Star – The Wizard and the Emerald City – An Easter banquet that transports us directly to the mysterious and stunning Emerald City, where the fantasy and magic of The Wizard of Oz is omnipresent. A menu that reflects the mystery and vibrant energy of this city, chef Vinicius and pastry chef Bárbara present exuberant and mysterious dishes accompanied by our guest illusionist who will create a magical atmosphere for this dinner.

10:00 PM – In the haven of your room, accept the invitation to the viewing of the film “Oz: The Great and Powerful” – The 2013 fantasy adventure film inspired by the universe of “The Wizard of Oz”, which serves as a sort of prelude to the classic, exploring the origin of the iconic Wizard, representing the idea that true power lies within each person and not in external or illusory figures.
